When I am in a First Nations environment I can be totally, authentically, be me. There is no judgement. They allow you to free flow… it is one of the few places where I feel totally comfortable being me!
First Nation’s teachings guided him to building his owns self-esteem and self-image and reconnected him to his roots and Mother Nature. For the past 33 years he has been a teacher, coach, and counsellor in First Nations Communities in five provinces (BC east to Ontario).
JLK adheres to the First Nation’s Medicine Wheel which encompasses the spiritual, mental, physical and emotional dimensions. Jon-Lee has been assisting native leaders to address social problems, including the health concerns related to diabetes in first nations communities; issues of substance abuse, suicide, the cross-generational effects of the residential school experience, sexual abuse of children in the past and present, and the rising challenges of gang violence in native communities today.
