I am leaving on the 20th of January to the communiities of Barriere and Clearwater, BC. In both communities I will be working with youth and community leaders in the areas of team building and goal setting.
Later, I will be in Winnipeg on January 26 and 27 speaking at a diabetes conference for caregivers and health workers from the four western provinces. My topics will be self-esteem, humor, and stress management. Specifically, I will be incorporating the aspects of the Medicine Wheel in relation to healthy living.
In studying the world lately, it is my observation that there are too few people that have more than they need or deserve. There is a lot of inequality, not enough sharing, and a lack of compassion. We need to teach people how to think–it is becoming more apparent that teaching people what to think has not worked out very well. Also we think too much with overuse of the left side of our brains, our logical-linear parts of our brains, and we need to have more compassion and empathy for others. This is what is missing in our world.
